A conveyor belt support system is a complex arrangement of structural elements, rollers, tensioning devices, and safety features designed to provide stability, alignment, and proper elevation to conveyor belts. This support system is essential for the reliable and efficient movement of materials in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, mining, logistics, and safety.
The bulk solids impact the conveyor can cause damage to the idlers, structure, and the belt. An impact bed is located underneath the belt at the impact zone and is designed to support the belt that reduces spillage and help absorb the impact of falling material.
Impact beds are also used to decrease the tendency of sharp edges of material piercing the belt and are useful in stabilising a belt at the loading point making it easier to seal the belt against spillage.
Our impact beds are available in standard, medium, and heavy-duty configurations.
At transfer points that experience heavy impact from large lump materials, the ESS Engineering Services & Supplies GAB Impact Cradles minimise impact damage to the conveyor belt while eliminating belt sag. Skirting effectiveness is increased resulting in reduced transfer point spillage and dust emissions.
Installing impact beds at load zones reduces damage to the conveyor belt, surrounding structure and idlers. Other advantages include effective belt sealing, which reduces material spillage and reduced belt drag. ESS' modular impact bed design for light-duty and medium-duty applications make impact beds available to the broader market.
The Combi-Cradle features impact rollers in the centre and impact bars on the wings. The rollers are mounted in a sliding base, which allows very close roller spacing, but with the ability to replace rollers in minutes.
The ESS Roller Cradles are installed in areas where the belt travels at high speeds with a heavy load, but no impact. The ESS Roller Cradles are closely spaced to reduce belt sag, while being easy to service and replace.
The GS Sealing Support System should be installed between idlers underneath the loading point as far down the conveyor line as is required to stabilise the belt. Installed as side rails underneath the belt, GS Bars maintain a stable, sag-free belt, even in the face of strenuous loading.
GAS bars provide a low friction, self-lubricating surface for conveyor belts to skim over without heat build-up or undue wear on the belt surface or bars. The ESS Drop-In GAS Belt Support System is not intended to absorb impact. The ESS Drop-In GAS Belt Support System holds conveyor belts in a stable, sag-free position to allow effective sealing. By minimising belt vibration and sag the ESS Drop-In GAS Belt Support System reduces escaping material and risk of damage to the belt and conveyor accessories.
The Quick-Change Idler Frames from ESS Engineering Services & Supplies are designed to allow withdrawal of idlers from either side of the conveyor belt. This makes roller change-out safer and quicker and is especially good where conveyors are elevated overland or sea, and where conveyors have narrow walkways.
The HEAVY-DUTY QUICK-CHANGE IDLER FRAMES lays flat to remove the idler, disengaging it from the belt. Reducing the effort needed to slide the idler out for replacement. The HEAVY-DUTY QUICK-CHANGE IDLER FRAMES Series has a wide opening, even in confined spaces, the roller can be removed easily even if the frame is partially withdrawn. When installing the replacement idler, the belt does not need to be lifted which reduces manual handling risks.
