Return belt conveyor cleaners are specialised devices used to clean the return side of a conveyor belt. In a typical conveyor system, material is carried on the upper "carrying" side of the belt to its destination, and the empty belt then returns to the starting point to complete the loop. This "return" side of the belt often accumulates dust, debris, or residual material from the carried goods, especially in applications involving bulk materials like coal, ore, or aggregates.
Return belt cleaners are typically mounted on the return side and below the conveyor belt, close to the tail pulley or where the belt changes direction. Cleaners use brushes, scrapers, or blades to remove built-up debris to keep conveyor belts in good condition. This has several benefits, such as prolonging the belt's lifespan by reducing wear and tear.
Additionally, a clean belt provides better friction with the pulleys, increasing the efficiency of the conveyor system. DIAGONAL PLOUGH
The ESS Diagonal Plough, unlike conventional Vee-type ploughs, is suitable for use on either single directional or reversing belts. It is also particularly useful on single direction belts where fugitive material needs to be deposited on one side of the belt only.
